Lamb asks shepherd... A blog of stories for discipling children of all ages

BootNeckSquare3_Dream words

Hey shepherd

Lamb, good morning
What can I do for you?

I have a question, Shepherd.

Yes lamb?

I haven’t seen you all night
What exactly do you do for me?

Lamb! We’re you safe all night?

No I had a really bad dream!

Do you know this dream cannot harm you?

Why, shepherd? I am scared.

Do you remember I told you,
I am the good shepherd,
I lay down my life for the sheep?

I think so.

Did I also tell you that I made all the sheep,
Watched them forming, from the atoms of earth and space
As they were woven together in their mothers’ wombs,
That I give every one, life, my life?

No shepherd, you didn’t tell me that.
So why do we have bad dreams?

When your mind is troubled,
It may express this way.
Sometimes there is something you should know,
I might speak to you this way.
Sometimes the wolf comes to frighten you.
Don’t ignore your dreams. Tell them to me.

O shepherd can I tell you my dream?

Go on.

Does it mean something, can you tell me what it means?
Who interprets dreams?

It is the spirit of God who can tell you what it means, lamb. Tell on.

I dreamed shepherd, O it was horrible...
A white sheep put his foot on the neck of a black one,
And he begged for his life and did not struggle
Then he became very still.

And all the sheep and all the goats started fighting
And they were all moving
In the cities of men.

Lamb, know that this dream is not about you.
This sheep, who is asleep, was helping me.
They hurt him because they hurt me.
He is praying for those he tried to help
And I am listening.
I leave my peace and joy with you
Know and seek my love.

What about the others, jostling together?

My friendship is what all these animals need
Their heart cry, their longing
For I made them to be friends with me
Who made and love them.
My love is the key to
Change the hearts, if they will.

Shepherd, it made me cry.

Lamb I know, I saw you cry.
I am close when you are broken-hearted.
And I store all your tears in my bottle.
Lamb, I cried too.

Why did you cry, shepherd?

Because lamb, I came to save every one
From the strife and futility of life in the world
Of pointlessness and questions.
I am the Truth they seek;
I taught my own and they teach others
What I’ve said.

What did you teach them shepherd?

First, to love my Father, also one another.
Everyone will know they are my own
When they see that they too
Are ready to lay down their lives.
And they do.

They have? More sheep than in my dream?

Through all of history and time,
Take a look.

Can you just tell me, Shepherd?

There are too many things to tell you, lamb.
You need to study.
Ask my friends.

What if the stories make me sad?

Know, lamb,
That I know your every thought
That I number the hairs on your head
That I love you.
Ask my Spirit,
He will teach you
That is why
I sent him.

O shepherd can I ask him now?

Yes lamb, go ahead.

Dear Spirit of the Shepherd,
Please teach me
The meaning of my dreaming
And what you have done for me.
Help me
Study hard
And lead me
To sources that tell me what the shepherd
Has done through his
Own.
From when he was here, until now.

Lamb.

Yes, Shepherd?

I was, before I came. Look it up.

Yes, Shepherd.
Thank you, Shepherd.
I love you.

I know you do, lamb.
When you have learned
Teach others to love me.
I will be with you
And do incredible things for you.
Just ask.

PRAYER

Help, Shepherd.
Why do horrible things happen -
to good sheep?
Why don't they happen to horrible sheep?

Show me, Shepherd.
teach me, I am listening.

So be it I am waiting.

Dear Lamb,
Here are some answers that might help you...

1. I gave life to every one in the world

2. I promise that if you follow the shepherd you get trouble

3. The word suggests you leave vengeance up to the Lord, and don't take it yourself.

4. Death is not the end, especially for a person "in me"

5. Those who are meek will inherit the earth, and those who are poor in spirit will have the Kingdom of God, which, by the way, lasts forever.

6. God's word will come to pass. Nothing else is sure.

7. Unless a seed is sown it cannot bear fruit. I showed that myself when they put me to death. Now I have many brothers and sisters who can live with me for ever.

8. Finally lamb, beware of anger... it is dangerous

These are some of the scriptures that show this.

John 1 verse 1-5 and 9-13

In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things were made;
without him nothing was made that has been made.
In him was life,
and that life was the light of all mankind.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

The true light
that gives light to everyone
was coming into the world.
He was in the world, and though the world was made through him,
the world did not recognize him.
He came to that which was his own,
but his own did not receive him.
Yet to all who did receive him,
to those who believed in his name,
he gave the right to become children of God—
children born not of natural descent,
nor of human decision or a husband’s will,
but born of God.

Matthew 5 verses 3-6 and 11-13
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are you when people insult you,
persecute you and
falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven,

Romans 12 verse 19
Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s [strong, right anger], for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

John 12 verse 24
Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of what falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.

Romans 8 verse 9-17
You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh
but are in the realm of the Spirit,
if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you.
And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ,
they do not belong to Christ.
But if Christ is in you,
then even though your body is dead because of sin,
the Spirit is alive because of righteousness.
And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead
is living in you,
he who raised Christ from the dead
will also give life to your mortal bodies
by his Spirit who lives in you.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.

For those who being led by the Spirit of God these are [children] of God.
You have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again,
but you have received a Spirit of adoption as sons,
by which we cry out,
“Abba, [Daddy], Father.”
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God.
Now if we are children, then heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ,
if indeed we share in his sufferings
in order that we may also share in his glory.

Matthew 5 verses 21-22
[Jesus is teaching:]
You have heard that it was said,
‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’
But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment.
Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Reprobate [Raca],’ is answerable to the court.
And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.

1 John 5 verses 4-5
Everyone born of God overcomes the world.
This is the victory that has overcome the world
even our faith.
Who is it that overcomes the world?
Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

James 1 verse 2
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because,
having stood the test,
that person will receive the CROWN OF LIFE that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Revelation 2 verse 10
Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days.
Be faithful, even to the point of death,
and I will give you life as your victor's crown.
